How To Get Skiing Sponsorships

Cross country or downhill, it’s your choice.  Both are great winter sports.  Maybe you enjoy water skiing as well.  Whatever you choose, you’re going to need skiing equipment to get started.  If you’re into downhill skiing, you will probably need a ski pass or a ski resort pass.  For cross country skiing, you can go just about anywhere, provided that there’s snow.  On the other hand, with water skiing, you’ll have to wait until it’s a bit warmer outside and have to get a boat, like sailing.

Get a summer or winter job

If you’re a student, you’ll have vacations, meaning that you can use that time to earn some extra money and give some skiing tips as well.  Sponsorship can come in the shape of a job.  There are many ski resort jobs out there and they range from those outdoors and indoors.  You can teach people how to ski on the bunny slopes, work inside at the café, or help operate the ski lift.  Free passes are often available for employees at ski resorts, so this might be a very profitable option for you.

Talk to your friends and family

Many people have tried skiing, once or twice.  Some people go as far as to buy skiing gear and have it sit in the basement, garage, or attic.  Ask them if they wouldn’t mind giving you the skiing equipment that they no longer use.  They will probably be happy to give it to such a ski enthusiast, who they know will use it well.

Organize a ski expedition

If you’re a cross country skiing, you know that you can go far, literally.  Talk to your local newspaper and let them know that you plan on a ski adventure this winter.  They could interview you and when people read the article, they could be willing to sponsor you, in the form of money, free food, and lodging, or even skiing equipment.

If this sounds like something that interests you, consider contacting one of our sponsorship consultants to find out more information.
