How To Get Tennis Sponsorships

It’s no secret that tennis is a lucrative sport, just look at Wimbledon.  This competition attracts tennis players from across the world.  Similar to golf it’s a very prestigious sport.  They travel near and far to compete for first place.  Lodging, food, transport, and tennis lessons can add up fast.  If you have heaps of money that you don’t have to worry about it, then that’s great.  However, if you’re like most of us, you’re always looking for a chance to save a bit of cash.  The good news is that just because something’s cheap or free doesn’t mean that it’s low quality.  If you don’t know about sponsorship, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how wonderful it can be to have someone sponsor you.  Look at the three tips below.

Take it down a notch and compete in competitions that you can win, hands down.  While you might not be competing in a world renown competition, there are still many reasons why you should go for the smaller tennis competitions .  First, you will get practice competing.  Daily practice is one thing, but competing is a completely different ball game.  Second, you could be recruited.  Scouts often attend competitions, even the smaller ones.  This brings us to our second tip. 

Getting noticed should be at the top of your list if you want to find a sponsor.  You can’t be a wallflower, you have to stand out and get noticed.  Just make sure it’s for positive reasons.  You don’t want to get noticed throwing your tennis racket or cursing because you missed a serve.  Being prepared to meet tennis scouts will pay off.  You should always be in top notch condition, be prepared to ask typical question and do something that will get you noticed. 

Approach local tennis shops and make them a sponsorship proposal.  You could help them with advertising, posing for shots, or even being at the store to help people choose tennis gear.  In exchange, they could offer you free tennis equipment or heavily discounted items.  If you live in a small town, you should have no problem getting a couple of shops to sponsor you.  If you’re in a big city, no worries, you just have more shops to choose from.
