How To Get Scuba Sponsorships

Scuba diving is a sport that many people try at least once when they’re on vacation.  During the summer, it should be easier to find sponsorships than in the winter.  But in the summer, you should be able to find enough sponsors and money to last you throughout the winter.  Here are a couple of tips to help you find scuba diving sponsorship.

Give lessons

During the summer, you should be able to give lessons to those who want to learn about scuba diving.  Make sure that you become a licensed instructor first and follow all the rules and regulations.  You’ll probably have talk to a couple of companies in order to get all the scuba diving equipment that you need.  But, once you have rented the equipment, you are free to give as many classes as you want.  Best of all, the scuba rental companies are likely to give you a discount due to the number of hours you book.

Exchange lessons

Since rental of scuba diving equipment can be expensive, you might want to look into setting up and exchange.  You might want to consider exchanging a couple of free lessons for a couple of hours on the boat at a lower cost.  You might even be able to get some hours thrown in for free.  Scuba diving rental companies are bound to have some customers that they would like to give free or discounted lessons, so take them up on the offer, provided that they give you a couple more hours on the boat.

Talk to the companies

Many companies are willing to give out sample equipment to serious divers.  It never hurts to ask if they have some sample equipment that they would be willing to give you.  You’ve got nothing to lose by asking.  If they aren’t willing to let you have equipment for free, there are other options, such as having equipment for a trial period.  Or even getting discounts if you’re a loyal customer.
