How To Get Running Sponsorships

Whether you’re a sprinter or long distance runner, you still have a love of running in common.  Running is a simple sport, you’re doing something that the majority of people can do and that’s run.  What sets you apart is the speed that you run at.  Some people are able to run a mile faster that it would take them to go once around the track.  The Olympics and marathons have made running a popular sport, so if you’re serious about running, you’ll recognise that there is a great potential to get sponsorship.  You can find three ideas below.

Set up a running event. 3K, 5K and 10K races are often held in the summer.  Many of them have the profits go to good causes, such as breast cancer.  While you won’t get rich by organising a race, you will be able to talk to many people who serve as a sponsor in the future.  Places that are willing to donate time, money, and equipment to a race are often willing to donate things to runners that show that they have potential.  Be sure to stay in touch with those sponsors after the race so that you can contact them in the future.

Setting up a training club is easy enough.  Since you can run just about anywhere, the set up costs are minimal.  Advertising is probably the only expense you’ll have.  You can focus on different needs, such as sprinting, pacing, plyometrics, and more according to what your students want.

Getting hired as a coach is similar to setting up a running club except you have no set up costs.  High schools often need extra help during summer running camps, so that would be a logical place to start asking about opportunities .  Your community center would be another place to ask about jobs as a coach.  You might be able to work at a couple of places.  Due to when the camps are going to take place and at what time, you could work two at a time.

If this sounds like something that interests you, consider contacting one of our sponsorship consultants to find out more information.
