How To Get Fishing Sponsorships

Fishing is a fun, relaxing sport to do with your friends.  It’s great to be able to spend the day with friends away from it all while fishing.  Fishing is something that many people enjoy doing and fishing shows show this.  If you like fishing and want to be able to catch the “big one”, then you should consider getting a sponsor.  Having sponsorship will allow you to have access to the fishing supplies that you need.  There are a couple ways to get sponsorship, look at the three ideas below to get some ideas.

 fishing competition

Tackle shops often have fishing competitions that offer fishing supplies as well as cash prizes.  Not only that, but they will often take photos and proudly display them around the shop.  Depending on the competition, you might be able to get your photo in the newspaper, allowing other potential sponsors to read more about your fishing adventures.

Chances are that if you like fishing, you know about the fishing shows that are on TV.  It’s worth a try to contact them and see if they would accept a guest on the show.  Getting to be able to TV will get you free publicity and you might even be able to get a few fishing supplies in the process.  If you get the chance to be on a fishing TV show, be sure to keep in touch with the producers and see if you can be a regular guest on the show.

While tackle shops often sponsor competition, there are usually bigger competitions that happen a couple of times a season.  While biggest competitions have tougher competition, the prizes are often bigger as well.  At fishing competitions, you will be able to meet major corporate fishing sponsors, the press, as well as other fellow fishermen.  Other fishermen might some of your best sponsors, since they can offer you real fishing tips and advice.
