How To Get Billiards Sponsorships

Billiards is a game of skill that requires concentrate.  Long hours are spent practising in the pool halls or pubs in order to become adept at billiards.  Many people just play for fun on the weekends, but if you’ve got what it takes and want to take the game further, then you will have to practise more than that.  If you are already spending much of your time in the pool hall, then the next thing you should do is consider getting a sponsor or two to assist you in your quest to become a professional.  Look at the three tips below on how to find sponsors.

Go to the pool halls and try to set up a couple of round robin competitions.  It’s best if you walk to the manager first and get his permission.  He might even be willing to organise it for you.  With a bit of give and take you should be able to create a win-win situation.  By sponsoring a competition, more people will come to the pool hall and buy food and drink.  In addition, the manager will get more business and you will get the chance to earn some prize money.

If you’re a bit of a risk taker, you could also try the pubs.  Pool is often played there and people often bet on the games.  Be aware that you could also lose some money, but you will also get to play against players of different levels and skills.  If you do go this route, be sure to keep the games friendly.  Like poker, a friendly game could easily get out of hand, so remember to walk away if necessary.

Talk to your friends and family.  If you are an avid pool player, then chances are that your friends and family also play.  They could sponsor you by way of billiards equipment.  Perhaps they have an old billiards table in the basement, or a couple of cues out in the garage.  If they’re not being used, ask if you can take them.  Be sure to thank them for everything and anything that you get.
